Pierre Bogaerts

Pierre Bogaerts obtained his law degree from the University Institution of Antwerp (U.I.A.) in 1987, and obtained an additional diploma in Maritime and Inland Navigation Law from the U.F.S.I.A. in 1989.

He undertook an internship at the Antwerp Bar with the law firm of Mr Leo Delwaide Jr. as well as an internship with the German maritime law firm Dabelstein & Passehl.

Pierre was (co-)founder of the law firm Meeusen, Bogaerts & De Groote, which merged into the law firm Marcon & Rubens in 2010.

He taught "Law" and "Commercial Law" at the Hogeschool Antwerpen and also taught in the context of Apec's ‘Gestion Portuaire’ seminar.

A committed and involved lawyer, Pierre has been both an opening speaker and president of the Flemish Conference at the Antwerp Bar. Furthermore, Pierre is a former member of the Council of the Order of Flemish Bars and Secretary of the Order and has been a member of the General Assembly of the Order of Flemish Bars since 2022.

Pierre is a member of the Belgian Maritime Law Association (BVZ).

Since 2005, Pierre has been appointed as liquidator of LLMC funds of maritime and inland vessels and in 2020 he was included in the list of vessel and LLMC (fund) liquidators at the Antwerp Commercial Court, Antwerp department.

In addition, Pierre is also a deputy judge at the Antwerp Commercial Court, Antwerp department.

In 2023, he founded QUADRANT LEGAL together with Patrick Rubens and Jan Everaerts.

Pierre speaks and writes Dutch, French, English and German.
