Jan Everaerts
Jan Everaerts obtained his law degree at the KU Leuven in 1996.
In 1997, he obtained the academic degree of Graduate in Specialised Studies in International and European Law at VU University Brussels.
Jan completed an internship at the Antwerp Bar at law firm Marcon & Rubens from 1999 to 2002 and worked at Marcon & Rubens thereafter.
From 2004 to 2017, he was secretary of the maritime association UNIVERSHA (University and Port).
Jan is a member of the Belgian Maritime Law Association (BVZ).
Jan taught Transport Law from 2004 to 2009 as part of the Transport Organiser training course organised by Syntra. He also taught Liability Law from 2007 - 2010 within the framework of the Insurance Intermediary course, organised by Syntra.
He taught the course 'Claims, Insurance and Dispute Settlement' from 2013 - 2019 and the course 'Maritime Transport Claims' from 2019- 2022, both organised by PORTILOG.
In 2023, he founded QUADRANT LEGAL together with Patrick Rubens and Pierre Bogaerts.
Jan speaks and writes Dutch, French and English.
